The cyclist who was struck and killed in Williamsburg Monday was a sculpture and video artist whose works have been featured in Times Square and Long Island City.
Police identified the victim as 28-year-old Devra Freelander Monday evening.
The young artist, who received her master’s in fine arts in sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2016, was fatally struck about 12:20 p.m. by a cement truck at the intersection of Bushwick Avenue and Boerum Street, cops said.
The 70-year-old motorist stayed on scene, police said. There were no charges as of Monday night, and police were still investigating.
